World Naked Bike Ride: Power, Purpose, or just getting nude in public?

Getting naked for the sake of some higher or noble purpose seems to be modern society's rather quirky response toward liberating today's new sexual mores and to bolster the moral consciousness of our so-called degenerate tribe(s) of humanity. It would be cool to actually participate , fo'sure!. But unfortunately, not many people are ready for prime time nudity where I live. We've been trying to get a World Naked Bike Ride started here (Tokyo) and elsewhere in Asia, but it really doesn't seem to go over that well for a variety of reason. I notice too that even some major urban areas has some trouble this year. In some case, the authorities refused to allow 'full monty' nudity - although I didn't seem to stop the true nudist enthusiasts or believers in the cause of 'No more exposure' to automobile exhaust. It's clear that the United States is decidedly more 'conversative' that other areas of the world - Chicago, the 3rd largest city, held its WNBR at night. For one thing, there seems to be a deluge of political apathy. People don't seem to care about making a strong political statement by public protest. Perhaps they have seen the futility of such protests (esp. public ones) over the generations. Secondly, people do not like to take personal responsiblity for their actions and decisions. Getting naked (partly or fully) is certainly a personal decision -- although it might seem to suit the 'group' mentality that seems apparent in many Asian countries. The fact is getting naked is very individual and very personal act. Finally, the sense of indignant indecency or an attitude of righteous morality that comes from doing something so brazen just does not have the same meaning in Asian countries. Nudity is just a fact of life. It does not make the same huge societal statement because nudity itself is not regarded as morally corrupt or wrong as it is in Christianity and otehr monotheistic religion-dominated cultures. The main reason I wanted to write about this was the thousands of great CMNM photos that appear during this season of the WNBR. Particularly appealing are the photos of naked men in the midst of clothed ones.

Got flashed on the night of the full moon in July

I am gradually become a flasher or at least I find it increasingly provocative to free-ball or sometimes wear semi-transparent or see-thru clothes.

For the first time in a very LONG time, I was actually FLASHED last night (July 17). I am so excited because this means I am NOT alone - -there is at least one other guy in my neighborhood area who into flashing/streaking. Great!

I was ecstatic last night (not just because of the full moon) to finally get flashed by a guy -- who was completely naked - under the street lamps along a tree-lined walkway bordering the cemetery where I walk the dog (my real pet and the one hanging between my legs Anyway, I went out last night at about 11pm. That's not my usual mode-- I don't get off by just flashing in the dark -- I mean what's the point in flashing if nobody can see you. However, now I see WHY guys do go out and flash at night. They may have MORE chance of actually been seen because the flashees are more likely to be looking. I usually walk my dog almost every morning between the hours of 6-8am and I hardly ever even get so much as a glance -- even when I am wearing my latest creation (see photo -- a pair of nylon athletic /jogging pants with the lining cut out -- just leaving a pair of very revealing mesh pants). So before you write me off as a true pervert -- just realize that I don't think that I have actually been "seen" by anybody in my neighborhood. I am discreet and also chicken-hearted (no -- I did NOT say chicken-shit). My flashing near or at nude beaches and at gay resorts, or in the French Quarter for Southern Decadence, does not really count at flashing - I mean most of the people there are doing it too or are out looking for those who are.

Now back to my story about getting flashed on July 17th!
was delighted when I got up the entrance of the huge cemetery about 700 ft from my place -- to see a guy completely naked about 50 ft away jogging up the narrow elevated walk way the runs along the edge of the cemetery. He must have seen me first as I emerged from the side street because by the time I saw him, he had flipped around and headed off in the other direction. Of course, he wouldn't know I would absolutely want to JOIN him in his naked romp so he did what most good flashers do -- he turned around and just jogged back the way he came. I lost him because the trail roams in and out among pines and other trees -- so he pranced down the natural obstacle course and before I could cross and start to follow, he was already gone.

I didn't want to RUN after him and scare him away forever -- he might too scared to do it again if he thought I was a self-righteous pervert-basher -- so I did the next best thing: I got naked too and walked down the same path (under intermittent street lights and then entered the cemetery from the next entrance about 200 yards down the way. There weren't many cars passing by but there is a row of houses which line the street on the opposite side. Any body could just look out the window. I can just hear them now saying " Oh look, George -- there goes another naked guy." "Yes, dear. I guess the full moon brings out all the streakers." LOL

Actually, that's more what we looked like -- streakers -- than flashers.
I went in the cemetery and walk around - naked and stroking - of course - but he didn't come back by. You can see through the scattered line of trees along fence line where that pathway winds all along the eastern edge of the cemetery. So I'm looking forward to meeting up with a fellow flasher -- or maybe it was just a one-time full moon event.

I went back to the scene of that flash this morning and showed a little bit of full MOON of my own -- here's what those jogging pants look like.

I am definitely going to take them (and wear them wherever I can get away with it) during my long extended travels from now until after Labor Day.

See you in Japan, Hawaii (Puna), Russian River (CA), in KY/Ohio/NY, Canada(Ottawa), Provincetown, NYC, Munich/Prague, Croatia (Rovinj), and maybe at Southern Decadence -- these pants will not even attract attention on the French Quarter with so many guys with their crotches open and women with their boobs exposed.

More of the travel adventures in a later blog.

Networking for CMNM Groups and Events in Local Areas

'Mardi Gras' exposure - not the real thing - but hot, anyway.

This is not to 'rain on anybody's parade'. But if you head off looking for these sights at the real Mardi Gras, you might be disappointed - although you could probably head to the Latin Quarter and see scenes like these during that time (and also at other times of year).
The scenes in the 'mardi gras exposure' were not likely taken during Mardi Gras - at least, they are not really part of the Mardi Gras festivities. Although it's all in good fun, the drunken antics are not part of the annual Mardi Gras festivities (in New Orleans), which are based on a religious observance, of course. In reality, the real Mardi Gras does not take place on Bourbon Street. So it is rather a widespread myth. However, despite the 'myth', it can certainly be fun to be a part of the after-parade events that happen on Bourbon Street. Fortunately for those of us who enjoy seeing them, the cock flashing and drunken antics can occur at many other times of year. Formerly, Southern Decadence, billed as the Gay 'Mardi Gras', and held at Labor Day (first weekend in Sept) was truly an unbelievably wild street event. To many outside the New Orleans area, the term 'Mardi Gras' has become synonymous with the flagrant street flashing breast by women and cock & balls (or butts) by men who are drunk and roaming Bourbon Street in the French Quarter after the Mardi Gras parades have finished elsewhere across the city, seeking to be rewarded with a string of shiny beads for exposing their privates or genitals.
Although fun and wild, and as such, it allows both the bead-giver and all of the casual bystanders too, a glimpse (or even more) of cute guys' dicks or their half-naked bodies (lower half - as they let their jeans and boxers drop), it is not really what Mardi Gras is. However, the myth persists. It's more likely to be an impromptu street party that spontaneously occurs during Spring Break or other holiday weekends in the old Quartier in downtown New Orleans. Tens of thousands of party-seeking college-age young people descend on the French Quarter on New Orleans during Spring Break, and "boys gone wild' is the name of the game. "In part due to the way the news media has focused on the activities of those who "visit" and go the French Quarter "after" the parades, it now appears that all many think about when they hear the words "Mardi Gras"are activities occurring in the French Quarter; i.e., flashing women (tourists who are drunk or need attention) and crowd surges (a spring break crowd trying to catch a glimpse)! This is not Mardi Gras. It has absolutely nothing to do with the "real" Mardi Gras celebration. Unfortunately, sex makes more news .. so every news camera visiting our beautiful city for Mardi Gras heads for the spring break crowd on Bourbon Street ... and does not give adequate coverage to those who spend thousands of dollars and months of time planning "The Greatest Free Show on Earth!" It is our hope that visitors who have seen Internet sites by tourists to New Orleans showcasing these tourists realize that they are only seeing 1/10 of 1% of what happens during the entire Mardi Gras season ... and hopefully, will soon realize Mardi Gras is not one big spring break for dirty old men, but an enjoyable celebration for families and friends. Locals stay away from the crowded Quarter in the evenings after a parade -- but we wouldn't miss Mardi Gras for the world! Excerpted (with additions) from http://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/

The Big Outdoors: Nature's Call to be Nude

There's something definitely spiritual about the attraction for and the effect that the Great Outdoors has on the male psyche and also his libido. There are few men who do not report that they have had had the urge, and are likely to have acted upon it, to abandon their clothes and to commune with the glorious beauty of nature by getting totally nude. For some of us, it acts like an aphrodisiac.

Ready to go get naked in the great outdoors

As the days get hot, people get naked!

One day last year I was paddling solo down a beautiful creek in the Midwest. I was scouting a route for a class I would be bringing there the follow

ing week. I had started out in the early chill of the day, but by noon the sun was out and the air was hot. I was concentrating on soaking up the heat, the sound of my paddle in the water, the aesthetics of the trees hanging over the banks.
As I rounded a bend in the river, another canoe approached from behind about six feet off the port side. The person at the bow of the canoe, dressed in an old T-shirt and shorts, was happily paddling forward, completely oblivious to the person at the stern, who was dressed in ... well, nothing but a smile.

"Great day to get naked!" He shouted.
The other person laughed to himself, apparently thinking the guy behind him was joking.
"It sure is!" I called back.
The person at the bow began to sense there was something amiss. The poor guy looked over his shoulder to see that he was the only clothed person in his canoe. Apparently, a fifteen-foot vessel was not large enough for him to be sitting in front of a naked redneck in the middle of nowhere. He started paddling as though he could make his end of the canoe outrun the back end.
Every now and then I spy an article in an outdoor magazine that mentions, in brief, the interest people have in nude recreation. People have hiked the Appalachian Trail with nothing but their boots and socks on, rappelled wearing nothing but their harnesses and I've even heard of naked skydiving! It would surprise you some of the things people do naked, but who hasn't gone skinny dipping?
In broaching the subject of nude recreation, I hear people say, "Sorry, but there are some people I don't want to see naked." Come on now. How many of us really look like Leonardo DiCaprio in The Beach or Kate Bosworth in Blue Crush? Why should the

fun be relegated to the beautiful? Goddess or gremlin, we all need some sun. Some more than others.
Let me point out that in many areas, recreational or not, nudity is illegal. This is where the American Association for Nude Recreation comes in. I met some representatives of this organization two years ago at a convention in Denver, Colo. They were very cordial, professional, open and dedicated to making nude recreation socially acceptable. They candidly explained that the AANR works to ensure both freedom and access to nature in clothing-optional locations. To this end, they work through educational, professional and political means to promote the validity of nudity as a means of recreation.
In view of a potential fine and the potential reactions of those unexpectedly encountered, why do some people prefer their recreation sans apparel?
I've heard it referred to as a "baptism into nature." Our entire body is one big sensory organ. We never experience anything as much as when we throw our whole selves into it. The person who watches a DVD about Mt. Hood won't know the emotions of the person who climbs it. The person who walks beside Opal Creek won't know the exhilaration of the person who jumps in it. The person who hikes into the Grand Canyon won't feel the same intimacy as doing so without the inhibition of clothing
I think it's like being on a road trip and turning a corner to see the most spectacular view spread out in front of me. The first thing I do is roll down the window. Then I start looking for a place to pull over, leave the car and stare uninhibited at the beauty before me. Maybe it's also like looking into the face of someone I find truly beautiful, someone I truly want to know. I naturally want to reach out and touch them, to remove the inhibition of silence that separates use.
It's about removing inhibitions. The window glass between me and the view inhibits what I want to see clearly. The distance between you and that person inhibits what you want to hold. So the reaction is to stop and reach out. At this point I am reminded of how many beautiful opportunities we have every day, in the faces of the people we pass.
We allow too many inhibitions to keep us from reaching out and seeing each other clearly. It seems we are so tightly clothed and constricted by so many things that we maintain a glass of social indifference between us and the lives of others. I am not suggesting that we should all be required to walk around naked, but if we could simply stop and reach past our inhibitions once or twice, we'd find that the next person is just as human as we are. In truth, clothing doesn't make the man, because the human is underneath.
Skinny dippers unite!
